The April meeting of the Ceiriog Valley Women's branch was held at the Canolfan Ceiriog Centre and was opened by the chairman, Mrs June Chatton,, with the Exhortation and Silent Tribute. Minutes of the previous meeting was read by Mrs Anne Northwood. The topic for the meeting was ' Down Memory Lane ' and commenced with the chairman reading extracts from her autobiography, and the secretary reading from a book called, 'Memories'. many photographs of past branch activities were seen, which brought back treasured memories. The afternoon was rounded off with refreshments served by some of the members.
 
The March meeting of the Dyffryn Ceiriog Women's Section, RBL, was held at the Canolfan Ceiriog Centre and was opened by the chairman, Mrs Chatton, with the Exhortation and Silent Tribute. get Well wishes were extended to all members who are not well at present. Those present then enjoyed listening to Mrs Margaret Roberts, reading her English translations of traditional and well known Welsh poems—which included her English version of Nant y Mynydd. This will followed by a Welsh Tea.
 

The November meeting was held at the Canolfan Ceiriog Centre and opened by the chairman, Mrs June Chatton, with the Exhortation and Silent Tribute. A warm welcome was extended to Lize Mitchell, from Wrexham Trading Standards, who gave a talk on 'Security in the Home', telephone scams and bogus tradesmen etc., who also distributed leaflets listing Trading Standards Advice for older consumers. She was thanked by the secretary, Mrs Anne Northwood. The afternoon was rounded off with a raffle and refreshments.

The next meeting will be on Thursday, 4 December, when Mrs Ann Jones will demonstrate making Christmas cards and decorations.

 
The October meeting was opened with the Exhortation and Silent Tribute. This was the Annual Meeting and was attended by six members from the Wrexham branch. An excellent annual report was given by the chairman, secretary and treasurer. All officials and committee members were re-elected.
Good wishes were expressed to Miss E. Roberts, who is in hospital and also to Mrs Janet Hope, who is recovering after her recent fall at home.
 
The September meeting was opened by the chairman Mrs June Chaton with a Silence and Exhotation. Sympathy was expressed to members who have suffered bereavement by Mrs Anne Norhwood. Nomination papers were distributed to members in preparation for the AGM in October. The afternoon was rounded of with a game of bingo, caller was Mrs Agnes Holt.
 
For their July meeting members of the Women's Section RBL, enjoyed a Night Out, when they got together for an evening meal at the Glyn Valley Hotel. Members will meet again on the first Thursday in September at the Canolfann Ceiriog Centre.
 
The June meeting of the Women's Section, Ceiriog Valley RBL was held at the Canolfan Ceiriog Centre, and was presided over by Mrs June Catton, who opened the meeting with the Silent Tribute and Exhortation. The secretary then gave a demonstration of Japanese Flower Arranging which was followed by the members 'having a go'.
A vote of thanks for an interesting afternoon was given by Mrs Margaret Roberts.
 
The May meeting, held at the Canolfan Ceiriog Centre, was opened by the chairman,, Mrs Chatton, with the Silent Tribute and Exhortation. Following the business meeting, in the unavoidable absence of the appointed speaker, the secretary Mrs Anne Northwood gave a talk on the Welsh Suffragettes which started in Llandudno. This was a very appropriate talk, as voting was taking place at the Centre the following day. She was thanked by Mrs Jenny Meakin for a most interesting talk.
 
The April meeting of the Ceiriog Valley Women's branch of the RBL was held at the Canolfan Ceiriog Centre and opened by the secretary, with the Silent tribute and Exhortation. Members remained standing in sympathy with the chairman, Mrs June Chatton, who recently lost her husband.
A talk and a display of portraits was given by Mrs Anne Northwood. Some were portraits of her family, others were copies of work by the late Kyffin Williams. She was thanked by Miss M. E. Roberts.
Members were reminded that the next meeting will be on Wednesday, 30 April at 2 pm —this is because the Centre will be used for Local Council elections on 1 st May.

The March meeting of the Women's Section of the Royal British Legion was held at the Canolfan Ceiriog Centre, and was opened by the chairman, Mrs June Chatton, with the Silent Tribute and Exhortation. Members remained standing in sympathy with Mrs Anne Northwood and family on their recent bereavement. The late Marion Rowlands who had been a faithful member was also remembered.
A very informative talk on Saint David was given by Miss M. E. Roberts and Mrs Margaret Roberts read her own English translation of a well known Welsh Poem. The meeting ended with a traditional Welsh tea.
 
A meeting of the Ceiriog Valley Women's Branch was held at the Canolfan Ceiriog Centre on December 6 and was opened by the chairman, Mrs June Chatton with the Silent Tribute and Exhortation. A warm welcome was extended to Mrs Ann Jones of Warrington , who gave a demonstration on the making of 'hand-made' Christmas cards. This was followed by refreshments, provided by the committee members. All members were reminded that the next meeting will be in March, as no meetings take place during either January or February.
 
The October meeting of the Ceiriog Valley Women's Section Royal British Legion was held at the Canolfan Ceiriog Centre and took the form of the AGM. In the absence of the chairman, her excellent report was read by Mrs Anne Northwood, both the secretary and treasurer's reports were pleasing. The election of officers took place and the following were nominated: chairman, Mrs June Chatton; vice-chairman, Mrs Elizabeth Hughes; secretary and treasurer, Mrs Anne Northwood; standard bearer, Mrs Rose Law and all committee members were re-elected.
 
The Royal British Legion, Women's Section held their September meeting at the Canolfan Ceiriog Centre, which was opened by the chairman, Mrs June Chatton, with the Silent Tribute and Exhortation. All the correspondence was read by the secretary, Mrs Anne Northwood—this was followed by a Bingo Session and a Bring and Buy Sale. Nomination papers were distributed to members in preparation for the next meeting, which will be the AGM.
 
The June meeting of the Ceiriog Valley Women's Section RBL was held at the Canolfan Ceiriog Centre on June 7. The meeting was opened by the chairman, Mrs June Chatton, with the Silent tribute and Exhortation. The minutes of the previous meeting were read by the secretary Mrs Anne Northwood, who also gave an interesting talk on 'Roses', which she illustrated by showing a number of different species from her own garden. Mrs Northwood and Mrs Agnes Holt gave a report on the Area Meeting they had attended at Wrexham. Refreshments were served by Mrs Marie Proudlove and Mrs Amy Jones.
 
The November meeting of the Women's section was opened by the chairman, Mrs June Chatton, with the Silent Tribute and Exhortation. Members remained standing in sympathy with all those who had lost relatives recently.
The secretary welcomed Mrs Margaret Roberts, who then gave an interesting talk on her life and showed copies of her translations of Welsh Hymns in English, and of her poetry. Members also had the opportunity to view many of her beautiful paintings, which she has completed over the years. She was thanked for a most enjoyable afternoon by Mrs Anne Northwood.
 
The October meeting of the Ceiriog Valley Women's Section of the RBL was the AGM, when the following officials were chosen: chair, Mrs June Chatton; vice-chairman, Mrs Bess Hughes; treasurer and secretary, Mrs Anne Northwood; standard bearer, Mrs Rose Law. Committee members: Mrs Josie Jones, Mrs Amy Jones, Mrs Tegwen Morris, Mrs Agnes Holt, Mrs Marie Proudlove, Miss M. E. Roberts and Mrs Jennie Meakin.
Miss M. E. Roberts thanked the officials for their annual reports and their work throughout the year. The annual meeting was followed by Mrs Anne Northwood relating the story of her 'Summer Quilt' and how it was made. Members were very interested and pleased to see the resulting quit.
 
The September meeting of the Ceiriog Valley Branch was held at the home of the chairman, Mrs June Chatton, and commenced with the Silent Tribute and Exhortation. The secretary, Mrs Anne Northwood distributed nomination papers in preparation for the AGM which will take place in October. Members then enjoyed a Bingo session and the afternoon was rounded off with refreshments.
 
The May meeting of the Ceiriog Valley British Legion, Women's Section, was held at the home of the chairman, who opened the meeting with the Silent Tribute and Exhortation. Members stood in silent tribute to Mr Fred Proudlove, whose widow is a faithful members. Miss Carys Jones of Pandy gave an interesting talk, illustrated with many photographs, relating her experiences when she visited Brazil working with the poor children in the Favellas area. She was thanked by the secretary, and all the members wished her well for her next visit to that area.
The meeting ended with refreshments and a raffle.
 
The December meeting of the Ceiriog Valley branch, Women's Section was held at Fronlwydd Farm, and commenced with the chair, reading the Silent tribute and Exhortation. Mrs Anne Jones of Warrington, then gave a demonstration of making Christmas cards. She was thanked by Mrs Anne Northwood. It was reported that Mrs June Chatton, Mrs Anne Northwood and Mrs Agnes Holt had attended the County Conference at Wrexham, and they had been pleased to receive, on behalf of the branch, the AIMEE HAVARD Cup. This is awarded annually to the local branch which has contributed the most money per member in the previous twelve months. Members were reminded that the next meeting will be held in March 2006, as no meeting takes place in January and February.
 
The October meeting of Ceiriog Valley Women’s Section R.B.L., was held at Fronlwydd Farm. As this was the AGM the meeting commenced with the chairman’s address, followed by the Annual Report by the secretary.
Miss M. E. Roberts thanked both the chairman and the secretary for their work during the past year.
Election of officers then took place, as follows: chairman, Mrs June Chatton; vice-chairman, Mrs Bess Hughes; secretary/treasurer, Mrs Anne Northwood; standard bearer, Mrs Rose Law, all committee members were re-elected.
The afternoon was rounded off with a game of bingo, followed by refreshments served by the committee members.
 
The September meeting of the Ceiriog Valley Women’s Section, Royal British Legion, was held at Cae’r Ysgol. The chairman, Mrs June Chatton opened the meeting with the Silent Prayer and exhortation. The secretary, Mrs Anne Northwood then welcomed Mrs Ann Jones of Warrington , who gave a Decoupage demonstration. The afternoon was rounded off with a raffle and refreshments. The October meeting will be the A.G.M.
