COBRA

The under-12 and under-8 teams enjoyed an excellent morning in Meifod against Caereinion Old Boys Rugby Association [COBRA] in January. The under-12s slipped to a narrow 29–38 defeat after being in front with only a few minutes left of the game. Daniel Owen scored two tries, whilst Derwyn Brooks , Cai Davies and debutant Will Davies, [who was voted Man of the Match], grabbed the others. Derwyn also kicked two conversions. Cai's spectacular effort is still being talked about.

Meifod way!

The under-8s drew ten tries each with their opponents in a thrilling end-to-end encounter. Owen Martin-Jones and Aled Bates each scored a hat-trick, Eira Hughes crossed the line twice and Osian Morris and another player completed the scoring.

Abergele

The under-12s visited Abergele in February, when they came up against much bigger and more mature opponents. The rumour that some of the Abergele boys drove themselves to the game is not true, but some of them were complaining that they had cut themselves shaving that morning! In bitterly cold conditions, the Glyn boys put up a brave fight before going down 10–55. Will Davies and Derwyn Brooks were the try scorers with Tom Lewis picking up the Glyn Bach Man of the Match trophy.
