Our under 12 team ventured into the lion's den when they drew Mold (away) in the North East Wales cup. Mold are reigning champions , and it was easy to see why, as we came home on the wrong end of a 0-57 scoreline. To their great credit, however, the Glyn lads never let their heads drop for one minute and drew rich praise from the Mold coaches at the end of the game for their spirited performance.

Rhuthun

Two weeks on from the Mold game, the under 12s bounced back in fine style, when they went to Ruthin on a glorious morning and defeated the hosts by 38-14. Brothers Charlie and Jamie Turner scored their first tries for the club [proud father Mark nearly bought a round in the club afterwards] ad Daniel Owen, Rhys Morris, Derwyn Brooks and Cai Davies also crossed the whitewash, with Derwyn kicking four conversions. Victory over a big club like Ruthin is a major scalp for

the boys, and needless to say, they were all highly delighted with this huge step forward. Daniel Owen picked up the Man of the Match trophy, which has been kindly sponsored by his taid (Glyn Bach).

The under 8s were also in action in Ruthin, playing two games and narrowly losing both. First up were Ruthin , who edged the game by 3 tries to 2. Skipper Owen Martin-Jones grabbed both Glyn tries, and he was on the scoresheet again in the second game against fellow-visitors Oswestry. Osian Morris also scored in a 2 tries to 4 defeat. With three tries on the day, Owen Martin - Jones won the Plas Lleucu "Man of the Match" trophy.

Many thanks to all who supported our "6 Nations Competition". In total, eleven people correctly forecast 35 points would be scored in the Italy v. Wales game, so we went to the "tie-breaker". Mrs Arwenna Brooks turned out to be our winner, as she forecast 36 points would be scored in the Scotland v Ireland game, which was closest to the actual total ( 37 points ).Mrs Brooks is binning all begging letters and turning down requests to pick lottery numbers.
